Ipswich Town is in advanced talks with Manchester United regarding the loan transfer of Brandon Williams
Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams is on the brink of a move away from Old Trafford as talks progress with a Championship club.
According to journalist Laurie Whitwell of the Athletic [subscription required] (h/t the Sun), United are in advanced discussions with Ipswich Town regarding a loan transfer for Williams.
This loan deal might include an obligation to buy the player at the end of the season. The 22-year-old was not included in United’s squad for their match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Manager Erik ten Hag has admitted that the English star’s absence from the team is linked to his desire to secure a move away from Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
The young defender has been playing for Man United since 2008 and made his first-team debut in 2019.
However, he had limited opportunities last season, making just one appearance in the Carabao Cup, following a loan stint at Norwich City. He was sidelined for an extended period of time due to an injury.
Williams finds himself as the fourth-choice left-back at the club, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia ahead of him, and Diogo Dalot is also capable of playing in that position.
Hence, the talented full-back might be keen to continue his development and gain valuable playing time. He may get a chance to reunite with former United coach Kieran McKenna, who is currently managing Ipswich.
McKenna achieved promotion from League One with his club last season, and the team is currently leading the championship table with three consecutive wins this season.

Joining Ipswich could offer Williams an excellent opportunity to learn under his former coach and be part of a high-performing team.
If the defender impresses during his time at the Portman Road Stadium, Ten Hag may consider reintegrating him into the United first team.
