Manchester United are interested in signing Aaron Ramsey and hope they will get their man after two failed attempts, according to the Mirror.

Sir Alex Ferguson tried to sign the Welshman from Cardiff City and we failed to get Ramsey last season, as per the report.

Unai Emery wanted to evaluate his players over the summer and has decided to let the 27-year-old leave at the end of the season, according to the Mirror.

Ramsey will be out of contract next season and is free to agree to terms with foreign clubs from January. The report adds Arsenal have retracted their contract offer for the Welshman due to Emery.

Liverpool are also interested in the 27-year-old with Jurgen Klopp being an admirer of Ramsey. The report adds that United are unsure about the futures of Ander Herrera and Juan Mata. As a result, Jose Mourinho believes the Welshman is the right man for his midfield.

The report claims that Arsenal want to listen to offers for Ramsey in January but the player recently stated that he wants to remain at the club till the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has a goal and three assists for the Gunners this season. Arsenal are fourth in the table at the moment and are a couple of points off the top of the table.
