Manchester United could lose eight first-team players due to Jose Mourinho’s ill-treatment and contracts running out in the summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Red Devils have made a poor start to the season with three losses from their opening eight league games. This is the worst start to their domestic campaign in 29 years and Mourinho has been embroiled in various spats with his players.

Paul Pogba, Antonio Valencia, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial and Eric Bailly all want to leave, as per the report.

The Daily Mail (h/t Daily Star) claims that the only way Pogba might remain is if Zinedine Zidane replaces Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Mata and Herrera will be out of contract in the summer with Athletic Bilbao interested in re-signing the latter. Pereira is also unhappy with a lack of playing time while Eric Bailly isn’t sure of his future at the club. (Daily Star)

Bailly was subbed off at half-time in the 3-2 win over Newcastle, which probably increased the indifference between the player and the manager. Arsenal and Tottenham are linked with a move for the Ivorian. (h/t Daily Star).

Although Luke Shaw seems to have become our No.1 left-back, the Englishman will be out of contract next season and is reluctant to sign a new deal. Martial is another player who will become a free agent and does not want to commit his future to United, as per the report.

Losing eight quality players would be a huge blow and we need to find a solution that keeps everyone happy.

Pogba, Martial, Pereira, Bailly and Shaw could be a quality core for years to come and we must do all we can to keep them at Old Trafford.
