Manchester United midfielder would be happier with a move to La Liga instead of Merseyside
Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri could soon be bound for the La Liga. The player has been linked to a loan move away from the team this January and it seems like Sevilla are edging closer to a deal.
It was earlier reported by Fabrizio Romano that Everton are looking to hijack the Spanish club’s deal. The Merseyside outfit is looking to replace Abdoulaye Doucouré and Mejbri is thought to be the man for the role.
However, the 20-year-old would prefer a move to Spain over the likes of Everton. It is looking more and more likely that the Tunisian midfielder will soon be turning heads over in the La Liga.
Apart from Mejbri’s preference, Sevilla also has another ace in the hole to beat Everton. They have included a buy option and a buyback clause in their bid for the 20-year-old.
The Merseyside club will likely be unable to match this offer and will have to look elsewhere. If Mejbri’s stint in La Liga is nearly as good as Mason Greenwood’s has been, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to play when he comes back.
The Tunisian midfielder chose not to participate in the AFCON because of his lack of playing time at Manchester United. Fans can only hope that Mejbri will gain his confidence back during his time away from the club.
