Manchester United loanee, Hannibal Mejbri is reaching another level says La Liga manager
Manchester United loanee, Hannibal Mejbri was shipped out to Sevilla in January. The Tunisian midfielder was very highly rated in Tunisia. However, for all his quality on the ball, his playing time under Erik ten Hag became a real issue.
Mejbri headed over to Spain in the hopes of getting more playing time, but, things didn’t quite go to plan for the 21-year-old. He was benched and not selected for the game despite being in perfect health to participate.
Sevilla manager, Quique Sanchez Flores said the Tunisian has been benched because he needs to realise where he is. Since then the Spanish manager seems to have changed his opinion about Mejbri as he was recently singing praises about him while talking to Diario de Sevilla. Let’s hear what he had to say. “The boy is reaching another level of understanding and is now capable of playing at any time. This has been a more mental adaption than a footballing one. Going from the Premier League to La Liga, which is very different.”
Flores added that Mejbri has done well to adapt to the game in Spain. He also mentioned that his mentality has been changed as well. During his time at Manchester United, the 21-year-old was playing for a team that contests for the top 5.
However, he has quickly become grounded now that he sees that his current team is in the bottom seven. The Tunisian has the skills required to hang with the best. Hopefully, his time in Spain will help him make a case for a starting spot at Old Trafford.
