Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is not happy with his current form in the club
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana who arrived here from Inter Milan is not happy with his current form.
The goalkeeper’s arrival at Old Trafford was highly anticipated, given his impressive performance at Inter Milan where he emerged as the top performer in the Champions League, making the most saves and keeping the most clean sheets.
Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Manchester Evening News) Onana said:
“But listen, you want to tell me in six months the best goalkeeper in the Champions League last season can become the worst in the world? Nah. Everything is temporary. I know it’ll be alright. If not today, it will be tomorrow, if not tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.”
He faced high expectations following the departure of David de Gea but has faced significant backlash for several performances, including his involvement in Bayern Munich’s goal at Old Trafford earlier this week.
After collaborating with the 53-year-old during a fruitful period at Ajax and currently being under his guidance at United, Onana firmly believes that Ten Hag is the ideal candidate to lead United into the future and the perfect manager for his own growth.
After a challenging start to the season, United has managed to improve their defensive performance. Despite not overpowering their opponents, their solid defensive performance allows them to remain competitive in games, even though 11th-placed Brentford boast a superior goal difference.
Undoubtedly, the 27-year-old has frequently displayed flashes of his exceptional talent. Once again, his numerous unforced errors and lacklustre shot-stopping have garnered the spotlight, drawing the attention of headlines, fans, and pundits alike.
With Liverpool leading the pack, there is growing concern for Erik ten Hag’s team, currently sitting in ninth place with seven losses in 16 matches this season. With 21 goals already conceded in just 16 Premier League matches, the performance of Onana in the United’s goal will be crucial for United’s chances of pulling off an unexpected victory against Liverpool.

United should exercise patience with Onana, while also acknowledging that there are underlying issues at the club beyond just their custodian. The vulnerable defence and lacklustre midfield have sorely let down the 27-year-old throughout the entire season.
