Erik ten Hag could be the reason behind Manchester United’s injury trouble as gruesome training method comes to light
Erik ten Hag has had his hands full with Manchester United’s injury struggles this season. Their failed campaign could also in part be blamed on Ten Hag’s unfit squad.
As reported by Mirror, Ten Hag has actively contributed to his team’s poor conditioning. Everyone is well aware of the ‘punishment runs’ that the Dutchman makes his team do following an embarrassing loss.
Well, those gruesome runs put a tremendous amount of pressure on the bodies of his players. With most of Manchester United’s injuries being muscle-related, fingers are now being pointed at Erik ten Hag and his training regime.
The Dutchman has been implementing this practice since his first season at the helm. The Red Devils enjoyed a degree of success during that season. So, surely all the blame cannot be put on Ten Hag’s head.
His training might be taxing but a world-class manager like him knows better than to push his players beyond their physical capabilities. Still one has to wonder what the true cause behind these injuries is.
Whether or not Ten Hag is to be blamed for Manchester United’s injury struggles is yet to be seen. For now, the team must focus on the game ahead as they look to mount a Premier League comeback.
