Manchester United ‘open’ to Donny van de Beek loan move to Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad are interested in Donny van de Beek and Manchester United are ‘open’ to sending him out on loan this summer, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Holland national has had a torrid time with injuries over the years. In January 2023, the midfielder picked up a knock and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
As a result, the Red Devils are willing to send him out on a temporary move. The Old Trafford side are expected to part ways with the 26-year-old as Erik ten Hag looks to trim his squad and raise some funds for reinforcements.
To that end, La Real have Van de Beek on their radar and want to acquire his services in the ongoing transfer window. The La Liga outfit have proposed a loan deal for the midfielder that includes a buy option.
At the moment, the Reale Arena side are in discussions with United over the amount to make the switch permanent. It remains to be seen how much the Manchester-based club will demand for the Holland national.
Van de Beek signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2020 from Ajax Amsterdam. At the Eredivisie outfit, he had showcased immense promise and potential under Ten Hag.
Unfortunately, the Holland national has been unable to make much of an impact at the Old Trafford side. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not seem to fancy him. The midfielder had a previous stint on loan at Everton, but fitness issues hampered his progress.
La Real would evidently be an exciting team for Van de Beek to join. They play some exciting football under Imanol Alguacil and are set to take part in the Champions League in the 2023/24 term.
