ManUnited loanee could be key to the signing of €70m-rated defender

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United could use Mason Greenwood to help them secure the signature of €70m-rated defender, Gleison Bremer. The 22-year-old winger might not return to Old Trafford after all.

Greenwood has been very impressive during his loan spell at Getafe. He has made 29 appearances, recording a total of eight goals and five assists. His stellar form has made a lot of people at Juventus admire him.

Now Bremer plays for the Serie A side so a swap deal could now be on the table. Greenwood’s return is still a subject of controversy. Sir Jim Ratcliffe cannot be sure that his return would make the fans happy.

On the other hand, the team is also in desperate need of some defensive reinforcements. So, it is pretty much a win-win situation for both sides. Juventus would get a player they admire and Man United would get a quality defender they desperately need.

Bremer could cost the team up to €70m if they decide to work a straight deal for him. United are planning on spending big this summer. However, it would be smart to save wherever they can and the 27-year-old Brazilian would be a stellar acquisition in return for a player they can’t even use.

Bremer is a strong defender standing tall at 1.88m. With him in the lineup, the team won’t have to worry about losing aerial duels or being bodied by the attackers of other teams. Since, Raphael Varane is leaving this summer, the Brazilian can easily replace him in the starting lineup.

Swap deals are often difficult to close, but it’ll be interesting to see whether Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INOES can use Greenwood to lure Bremer.
