Atalanta and Manchester United in ‘advanced talks’ for Rasmus Hojlund transfer
Manchester United are in ‘advanced talks’ with Atalanta to acquire the services of Rasmus Hojlund in the ongoing transfer window, according to the Independent.
As things stand, the Red Devils are discussing the potential fee that could get a deal done. Initially, the Bergamo-based club were expected to ask for £80 million to part ways with the striker. However, the Old Trafford side are optimistic of wrapping up a move for around £60 million.
As for the Denmark international, he has already agreed personal terms with United. The 20-year-old is keen on moving to the Red Devils this summer. However, there is still much to be done before the transfer can be finalised.
Atalanta signed Hojlund in the summer of 2022 from Sturm Graz. Subsequently, the forward has become a key player for La Dea in recent months.
Gian Piero Gasperini heavily relied on the youngster in his team last season. The Danish national made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit in the previous campaign, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.
While the 20-year-old’s numbers do not look encouraging, he is a promising talent. Erik ten Hag has built a pedigree over the years of nurturing young talent.
Also, the Dutch manager seemingly needs a new number nine at his disposal at United. Anthony Martial is the only natural option for the gaffer in the striking department for now. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether the French national will be able to remain fit next season consistently.

Therefore, Hojlund will arguably add more depth to our forward line. However, will the Danish national be able to live up to the expectations if he does end up moving to Manchester? Only time will tell.
