Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay £30 million for Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson
Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay £30 million to get Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson, according to Football Insider (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Spurs are ‘interested’ in acquiring the England international’s services. The North London side are keeping tabs on the goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest. Before joining the Tricky Trees on a temporary move in the summer of 2022, he had criticised the Red Devils over a lack of game time.
Therefore, it is unlikely that Henderson will play for the Old Trafford side when he returns to the club at the end of the season. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the 26-year-old.
At the moment, Tottenham have Hugo Lloris as their number one. However, the 36-year-old is nearing the culmination of his professional career. As a backup, Spurs have 35-year-old Fraser Forster in their ranks.
As for United, David de Gea has been our first choice for many years now. Under Erik ten Hag, the Spaniard has retained his place in between the sticks. Although, the goalkeeper has looked uncomfortable playing out from the back.
In the 2020/21 season, the 32-year-old was competing with Henderson for minutes. However, in the previous campaign, the former Atletico Madrid star pipped the England international in the pecking order.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed regular minutes in Steve Cooper’s team. Over the course of the season, the shot-stopper has put in some impressive displays, seemingly reviving his reputation.

Henderson has shown that he possesses a lot of quality. Therefore, it would evidently be remiss of United to part ways with the English national when Tom Heaton and Jack Butland are the backups in the goalkeeping department.
