Manchester United urged to sign Portugal international Joao Palhinha from Fulham
Manchester United icon Paul Parker has urged Manchester United to sign Portugal international Joao Palhinha from Premier League rivals Fulham.
The Red Devils will look to bolster the middle of the park in the upcoming transfer window. At the moment, the Cottagers’ 27-year-old defensive midfielder is valued at £35 million.
Speaking to MyBettingSites (h/t Express), Parker, who spent five years playing as a defender at the Old Trafford side, would be delighted to see Palhinha at the Manchester-based club and believes the midfielder would make us better.
“I want Palhinha at Man United. He is Fulham’s best signing in ages and he would be amazing at Man United. He has been consistent all season.
“He is an all round player but he is not an all round average Joe he is all round amazing. Without a shadow of a doubt, he would improve Man United’s team.”
The 27-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at Sporting CP and spent a decade on the Primeira Liga outfit’s books. After a few impressive seasons, the Craven Cottage side bought him last summer.
Palhinha has been a revelation in the Premier League for Fulham. The Portugal international has caught a lot of people’s attention with some eye-catching displays for Marco Silva’s team.
The 27-year-old has played in the heart of the London-based club’s engine room. He has made 29 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers, scoring four goals.
In the summer of 2022, United added Casemiro and Christian Eriksen to the squad to reinforce the midfield. The two have surprised many with the impact they have had at the Old Trafford side.
The Brazil international has been especially pivotal to the Red Devils’ success under Erik ten Hag in the number six position. However, in the former Real Madrid star’s absence, the likes of Scott McTominay and Fred leave a lot to be desired.

Therefore, we could evidently do with more strength in depth. However, will a player of Palhinha’s quality want to come to United, where competition for a place in the team is immense? Only time will tell.
