Manchester United coach says the team will surely start to put more results on the board soon
Manchester United have struggled more than any of the other Premier League ‘giants’ this season. The team currently finds itself occupying the eighth spot on the table and their chances of a spot in European competitions are quickly fading away.
The Red Devils have never been so desperate for a win in recent history. Erik ten Hag and his men surely have a long road ahead of them. The team’s assistant manager, Steve McClaren has full faith in the squad.
The 62-year-old believes that United will be back to winning ways despite the terrible campaign they’ve endured so far. Let’s have a look at what McClaren had to say while speaking to BBC. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“Arsenal are back after being down and Man United will do the same. We have had many storms.”
“I see tremendous plusses from Ineos coming in and what they are trying to do. It is identifying the standards and getting back to them.”
McClaren added that within the past two years, the club has had some standards which are not fit for Old Trafford. However, he is extremely happy with the efforts being taken by INEOS and believes the new owners are getting the best people in.
The Red Devils have already signed Omar Berrada from local rivals Man City. They’ve also added Jason Wilcox over from Southampton. Finally, Dan Ashworth is also expected to follow and join the two at Old Trafford next summer.
Having the right people in key positions is just one step of the puzzle and United currently have the entire board to fill. However, the early signs being shown by the new owners are very positive.
