Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker lashes out at “selfish” Marcus Rashford.
Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker didn’t hold back in his criticism of Marcus Rashford.
Parker branded the 25-year-old as “selfish” and a “petulant child” for only playing for himself and not the team. The England International has so far failed to capitalize on the tremendous form he showed last season.

Parker spoke to MyBettingSites (h/t The Express) when he delivered a scathing assessment of Rashford. He said:
“I was criticizing Rashford when he scored goals because I wanted him to provide more for the team. Now, he is not scoring goals anymore, and his decision-making is still poor. It has taken people a while, but now they are finally seeing that he is not contributing to anything.
“He is just a selfish player who lives on the back of being good in February. Overall, he has been delivering a poor return throughout his Man United career. That’s a fact.”
The Red Devils are struggling this season as they have already lost four out of six games, in all competitions.
Rashford was United’s top goal scorer last season but he has struggled to bring that form into the current season. The 25-year-old forward has only scored one goal in six matches the Red Devils have played so far.

United lost 4-3 to Bayern Munich for the opening Champions League Group A fixture at Allianz Arena. Throughout the game, new signing Rasmus Højlund looked like an isolated figure as Rashford kept shooting after every darting run. Højlund managed to score the first goal for United but the Danish forward didn’t get many afterwards.
The Englishman has been criticized by many fans and pundits for being too selfish on the ball. Rashford has the pace and ability to go past the defense and cause havoc in the opponent’s defense. Unfortunately, the player has relied on cutting inside and shooting, a trick that makes him very predictable.

We hope that Rashford can regain his goal-scoring form soon because the Red Devils are currently starving for it. It may be wise for Rashford to look for his team-mates at times and stop over-using his one move.
