Man United have canceled their corporate credit cards to cut back on costs
As reported by ESPN, Manchester United have now cancelled the corporate credit cards of all the heads of departments at the club. The move is part of a new cost review process started by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The INEOS chief wants the club to comply with the profit and sustainability regulations. He wants to avoid a repeat of last summer when the club was fined £257,000 after they breached UEFA’s regulations.
The Red Devils have been extremely busy over the last two summers spending a total of £381m on new arrivals. They will likely not be making their money back on players like Antony and are now looking to cut costs.
It has also been reported that consultants from Interpath will be meeting the heads of all the different departments. An in-depth analysis of their costs will take place over the coming weeks and new budgets will be set forth.
While the Interpath consultants will not have any say in the team’s transfer dealings, the money saved through them will be available for use during the transfer window. It seems like Sir Jim Ratcliffe is prepping for a big transfer window.
Man United are in desperate need of changes at all levels of the squad. More money will allow the INEOS team to acquire better players this summer. Ratcliffe wants no compromises on the quality of his team and will have the money to ensure that doesn’t happen.
