Jamie Carragher says he would want this Manchester United star at Liverpool

As reported by The Mirror, Jamie Carragher says that he would want Manchester United star, Kobbie Mainoo at Liverpool. Let’s have a closer look at what else he had to say regarding this wild take.

“I’m trying to think who else in the United team is better playing in their position. Maybe Rashford because Liverpool in the summer, obviously under a new manager, but would that be a position you look at?

“Wide left because I think Diaz is good, I don’t think he’s great. So that could be a position. But I think with Mainoo in central midfield. Yeah, I would go with him just for the age factor.”

Erik ten Hag is also a huge fan of his young midfielder and will not be looking forward to his departure. So, Carragher can cook up whatever fantasy he likes but Manchester United will not be letting go of Mainoo any time soon.

In the little time that he’s had with the first team, the 18-year-old has solidified himself as a starter. Fans truly started to appreciate Mainoo after he became a hero for scoring a last-minute winner against Wolves.

From here on, the only way that Kobbie Mainoo can go is up. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has previously stated that he wants to make superstars at the club instead of buying them. Now, 18-year-old Mainoo and 19-year-old Garnacho seem to be the players he’s placing his bet on.

It is scary to just think about how the fans would react if the Red Devils ended up selling these youngsters to their rivals Liverpool. Moreover, the Reds are already nurturing their talent as Klopp has given them plenty of opportunities to young players in what is his last season at Anfield.

Connor Bradley is one to keep an eye on and could even end up replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold shortly. The two teams will surely not be too willing to set the other up for the future so Mainoo is going to be a Red Devil for a long time to come.

The only Manchester United academy graduate who might be at risk of being sold this summer seems to be Marcus Rashford. For all his talent, the Manchester-born star is way too inconsistent and his discipline issues don’t make things any better.
