Valencia interested in signing Donny van de Beek from Manchester United in January window
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is being looked at by Valencia for a move in the January transfer window, according to TodoFichajes via Sports Mole (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The La Liga club’s head coach Gennaro Gattuso is eyeing two signings in the winter and the Holland international has been earmarked by him. Inter Milan are also interested in acquiring the 25-year-old’s signature.
Van de Beek signed for the Red Devils in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. However, since then, the midfielder has been unable to break into the team.
In his debut season, the 25-year-old got several opportunities, mostly off the bench. However, in the 2020/21 campaign, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not seem keen on the Holland international and started zero games in the Premier League for the Old Trafford side.
Subsequently, Van de Beek went out on loan to Everton in January 2022. While he initially had a fruitful spell at Goodison Park, injuries hampered the midfielder’s previous campaign.
However, with the arrival of Erik ten Hag, the 25-year-old was tipped by some fans to get back to his best. Unfortunately, fitness issues have once again cropped up.
The former Ajax star featured against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League on 27 October (Thursday) after several weeks out. He looked energetic in his short spell against the Moldovan outfit.
However, with the competition in the team for places in the middle of the park, it is evidently going to be tough for the Holland international to get a lot of minutes.
