Manchester United are keeping tabs on AS Roma forward and England international Tammy Abraham
Manchester United are interested in signing AS Roma forward Tammy Abraham to bolster their forward line, according to GiveMeSport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils had an eye on the England international in the summer of 2022. However, the Old Trafford side turned their attention to signing Antony from Ajax.
Abraham has had a successful spell in Rome under former United manager Jose Mourinho. And the Portuguese manager will not be keen on parting ways with the 25-year-old.
Erik ten Hag has a few issues to contend with regarding his attacking options. Anthony Martial’s season has been marred by injuries. The French national has had a hard time staying fit and getting regular game time.
In the few minutes Martial has featured during the 2022/23 campaign, the 26-year-old has made the most of them. The former AS Monaco forward has contributed a goal or assist in every game he has played this season.
The Dutch manager has also had to deal with the uncertainty surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has found himself on the bench on most occasions this season.
Ten Hag has preferred the likes of Marcus Rashford and Martial in the number nine position ahead of Ronaldo. And the English and French forwards have made a case for themselves when they have been on the pitch.
On the other hand, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has struggled for form in the current campaign. Ronaldo was the Old Trafford side’s top goalscorer in all competitions last season. However, under the Dutch manager, the 37-year-old has just two goals so far.

Abraham has thrived at Roma since his departure from Chelsea. The 25-year-old has Premier League experience on his side. But it remains to be seen whether United will go after his signature in the coming future.
