Serie A giants AS Roma have set a price tag of €40–€45 million for Manchester United target Tammy Abraham, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).

The Italian outfit will not part ways with the England international for ‘anything less’ than the aforementioned amount. Over the last two seasons, the 25-year-old has been a pivotal player for the Giallorossi.

In the upcoming transfer window, the Red Devils are set to prioritise the addition of a number nine to the squad. To that end, Abraham is one of the players being linked with a move to the Old Trafford side.

The striker made his way through the youth ranks at Chelsea. After a few promising spells out on loan, in the 2019/20 campaign, Frank Lampard gave the 25-year-old an opportunity in the Stamford Bridge side’s first team, which he took with both hands.

However, the 25-year-old lost his place in the Blues’ starting lineup with the arrival of Thomas Tuchel in the West London-based club’s dugout. After that, the forward signed for Jose Mourinho’s team in the summer of 2021.

Last season, Abraham shone at Roma. However, the goals have dried up a bit for the England international in the current campaign.

At the moment, United’s attack consists of only two natural strikers in Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. But both of them have been unreliable for different reasons.

The former AS Monaco star has mainly been on the sidelines since Erik ten Hag’s arrival in Manchester. On the other hand, the Holland international has left a lot to be desired in front of goal.

Therefore, we could do with a prolific goalscorer in our ranks. However, Abraham has not been encouraging this season. Thus, spending a considerable amount on the 25-year-old does not seem wise.
