Antony reacts to ‘incredible’ goal-scoring debut as Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 at Old Trafford
Manchester United forward Antony has taken to Twitter via the Express to celebrate an ‘incredible day’. The Brazilian scored on his debut as the Red Devils beat Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Antony thanked the staff and his teammates. The unforgettable day was coupled with a brilliant United crowd. The Brazilian is just getting started for the Red Devils.
The Gunners visited the Theatre of Dreams following their five-game win streak in the Premier League. However, United were standing at the gates to scupper the North London side’s perfect start to the season.
It all started with Antony scoring the first goal of the match in the 35th minute. Marcus Rashford slipped in the Brazilian, who brilliantly slotted the ball past Aaron Ramsdale.
The former Ajax star had brilliant moments throughout the game. However, Antony was replaced in the second half as Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench.
Erik ten Hag made just one change to the lineup that has remained the same since the Liverpool game. Anthony Elanga made way for the new signing.
Arsenal had a goal disallowed in the opening stages of the game. But after that, United controlled the proceedings. However, the Gunners started the second half on the front foot, creating several chances. They ended up equalising through Bukayo Saka in the 60th minute.
However, A few minutes later, Bruno Fernandes played a sublime ball in behind the Arsenal defence for Rashford to run on to. The England international gave the Manchester-based club the lead once again in the 66th minute.

Rashford went on to secure the three points in the 75th minute with another strike. United have now gone to four wins in a row with the victory over the table toppers.
