Manchester United expected to move on from failed Erik ten Hag signing

As reported by Rudy Galetti, Manchester United are expected to move on from 24-year-old star, Antony this summer despite him being a favourite of manager Erik ten Hag. The Brazilian has been a massive disappointment for the Red Devils who paid £85m for him back in 2022.

Since his arrival Antony has made 77 appearances for Erik ten Hag’s side, scoring just 10 goals while recording five assists. You can give him the benefit of the doubt for his poor performance during his first season in the Premier League.

However, this season has also been an abysmal display by the 24-year-old and there are no excuses for that. Antony has made 33 appearances so far and has only recorded two goals and two assists for his team.

It is known that Erik ten Hag pushed hard for the signing of Antony however, he himself has been hesitant to call on him. Man United are now expected to let go of the 24-year-old this summer.

However, the team might struggle to find any suitors for Antony. First off he is an expensive player and no one wants to overpay for someone who has repeatedly failed to justify his value over the past two years.

But the Brazilian is slowly starting to get back into form and the Red Devils expect the situation to change. They believe at least a few teams will be open to acquiring Antony once the season is over.
