Fred praises Christian Eriksen and believes the new signing can achieve great things at Manchester United
Fred has praised Manchester United new boy Christian Erisksen as “a great player”. The Brazilian is looking forward to starting the new season with the Danish national in the side.
Eriksen joins the Red Devils as a free agent after a stint in the Premier League with Brentford. The 30-year-old had been out of the game for a while after collapsing during Euro 2020.
Speaking to United’s official website (h/t Metro), Fred is happy to have someone of Eriksen’s quality and ability in the squad. The Brazilian has previously played against the Danish national when the 30-year-old featured for Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford.
“Great player – we all know about his quality. He was at Tottenham, last season at Brentford, so he’s someone we know.”
“He’s got the ability, a great player, attacking, strikes the ball well, knows where the goal is. He’ll add to the team and he’ll be made very welcome in our team.”
Eriksen was a brilliant servant for Spurs before moving to Inter Milan in 2020. The Danish national found life hard in the Serie A. Then the incident at The Euro’s kept him on the sidelines.
Joining the Bees in the winter transfer window last season, the 30-year-old dazzled the Premier League once again with his talent.
Fred is looking forward to achieving good things at United alongside Eriksen. The Brazilian hopes the new signing can integrate into the side and help them in their targets in the upcoming campaign.
“Together we can achieve our goals. He’s a very experienced player, I’m sure he’ll contribute a lot. He seems like a great person and will add to our group.
“I’m fully behind him and hope that it all works out in our team. As I said we want to achieve our goals together and he can add a lot to our team.”
Our squad currently has a lot of midfielders who play in the same position that Eriksen prefers. The Danish national is more of an attacking player in the middle of the park.
We have Bruno Fernandes, who plays as our number 10. The Portuguese has been one of the best in his position since arriving in Manchester, although last season was a bit of a letdown. Donny van de Beek is also adept at playing in a similar position.

It remains to be seen how Erik ten Hag sets up his side next season. Creativity in the attacking third was a problem last season. Whether both Fernandes and Eriksen play in the XI will be interesting to see.
