Manchester United midfielder, Christian Eriksen has once again indicated that he is unhappy at Old Trafford.
Manchester United midfielder, Christian Eriksen hasn’t been getting a lot of opportunities under Erik ten Hag. During the Dutchman’s maiden campaign, the Denmark national was a key figure in his middle line.
However, the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo and the return of Casemiro have had a huge impact on Eriksen’s playing time. The 32-year-old has only made three appearances in 2024 making it 21 appearances for the season.
He has only played 1,127 minutes out of a possible 1,890, which shouldn’t be the case for a player of his talent. Here’s what Eriksen had to say about the situation while speaking to Tipsbladet. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

“I have previously stated that I am not satisfied with not playing, but it’s not something that keeps me up at night. The team is performing, and I must respect the role you have alongside.”
Eriksen added that he has somewhat accepted his role at United. He stated that he works hard and stays ready for the time that the team needs him. The 32-year-old was also quick to point out that Man United have a lot of stars.
So playing at a big club like the Red Devils clearly means that someone will have to sit on the bench. Eriksen added that he isn’t the only one who sits and that there is a lot of competition between the team.
Manchester United have a lot of youngsters so having competition is a good thing. Hopefully, it will help with their development.
