Transfer News: Manchester United leading the race for Porto star Vitinha
According to A Bola (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United along with PSG are leading the race for Porto midfielder Vitinha. Record (via Sport Witness) (h/t Manchester Evening News) go on to claim that Sergio Conceicao, manager of the Portuguese club is unhappy about the efforts to sell the player.
Vitinha joined the Portuguese giants in 2013 and has since then progressed through the youth ranks before breaking into the first team in 2020. He was then loaned out to Wolves for one season before returning and impressing at Porto this season.
The 22-year-old has played 47 times for the Portuguese club this season scoring four goals and providing five assists across all competitions. These numbers have made Europe take notice of the talented midfielder.

Manchester United’s interest in the midfielder has been prevalent for quite some time now and they are said to be leading the race for the Porto man along with Paris Saint-Germain.
Midfield man?
It is no secret that Manchester United want to reinforce their midfield ahead of next season and Frenkie de Jong is rumoured to be the preferred target.
However, it has now emerged that following the economic boost that Barcelona received recently, there is no necessity for the Spanish club to sell the Dutch superstar and this could throw a spanner in the works for United.

The 22-year-old Vitinha could emerge as the perfect alternative for the Red Devils though with the Portuguese midfield presence showing he has what it takes to succeed in an Erik ten Hag midfield for next season.

PSG’s interest in the player is definitely not good news nor is the fact that Sergio Conceicao actually doesn’t want the player sold. Regardless, United must continue pushing and try to convince the Portuguese giants to sell him.
Vitinha will be a great option for Man United. Right now, it feels like the more likely option and we must not let it pass.
