Manchester United set yet another embarrassing record following their humbling at the hands of Crystal Palace

Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag will miss the support of John Murtough

Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag might soon start to crumble under the pressure. Now that his long-time supporter, John Murtough has stepped down, things will only get more difficult for the Dutchman.

It was Murtough who traveled to interview Ten Hag before he was appointed as the coach. As reported by The Sun, the former United executive was extremely impressed by the Dutchman’s knowledge of the club and attention to detail.

However, as we have witnessed this season, knowledge can only take you so far. Erik ten Hag has been unable to achieve anything this season and the season will end in a few days. The people will surely dub their campaign this year as a failure.

With Murtough gone, it’s almost like Erik ten Hag has lost his backbone. However, the Dutchman believes he has a good relationship with the new owners. But, Sir Jim Ratcliffe hasn’t said the same, so who really knows?

Ten Hag’s failures will not allow him to hide behind any kind of relationship. The Dutchman needs to take his team to the UCL to save his job. But, United have only won 3 points out of their last four Premier League games.

With that, their season is all but over now. The clock is running out and all Erik ten Hag can do at this point is win the FA Cup. While it’s not a lot it will still be nice for Man United to get something out of this season.
