Manchester United target’s past comments about Liverpool are worrying the masses
Man United have long been eyeing a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender, Jeremie Frimpong. The 23-year-old has been stellar under Xabi Alonso this season and has played a huge part in the team’s unbeaten run.
Leverkusen clinched their first Bundesliga title last night and Frimpong along with others deserves credit for the stellar season. The Dutch defender has made 38 appearances this season recording 12 goals and 11 assists.
His form has impressed many and Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also expected to challenge United for the player. However, there might be a bigger danger close to home as the 23-year-old holds Liverpool in high regard.
Frimpong has previously commented that Liverpool would be a great club for him and they have a lot of history. While the 23-year-old did say that who knows what the future could hold he clearly admires the Reds.
This is bad for Manchester United who hope to bring Frimpong in during the summer. Another thing that the Reds have over Erik ten Hag and his team is that they will be playing in the UCL next season.
On the other hand, the Red Devils are struggling in the Premier League and might not even end the season with a top-six spot. It is clear to see which destination will offer more chances of success to the 23-year-old.
