Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not to blame for the club’s poor form

Speaking in an interview (h/t The Metro), Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has defended Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he believes that he is not to blame for the club’s poor form.

The Norwegian was appointed in December 2018 by the Red Devils and produced encouraging performances as an interim manager. He was later handed the job permanently, and the club have ploughed in the cash across the last two seasons.

Despite spending so heavily, Solskjaer has not won any silverware with the club and their hopes of winning the Premier League this season are marginal after suffering a poor start to the campaign.

The 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool was the worst of the pick, especially since it was at Old Trafford. Although he did mastermind a great victory against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and has kept the club’s Champions League hopes alive, he has been under severe pressure.

However, the 48-year-old gaffer’s Portuguese midfielder has now come out in his defence. Fernandes believes the results are not good enough, but it is not the ‘coaches’ fault.’

‘He [Solskjaer] is a great person, and everyone knows the human part of him. It’s normal people get upset because the results don’t come, but it’s too easy to blame only the coach because we [the players] go on the pitch, we should do better. We’re still dropping points at home, and it’s not good enough, but it’s not only the coaches fault.’

The 27-year-old has been incredible this season, having scored 4 goals and provided 8 assists in 15 appearances across all competitions. But despite all of this, he too has been criticized for his recent performances.

The gaffer and the Portuguese playmaker will now have a chance to hit back at the critics when we host Man City on Saturday.
