Transfer News: Manchester United eye free transfer for Inter Milan ace Marcelo Brozovic
According to the latest transfer news on Sport Witness (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are eyeing a free deal for Inter Milan ace Marcelo Brozovic next summer.
The Red Devils currently have a plethora of central midfielders in their squad, however, a need to add another player to the mix might be needed soon.
Paul Pogba has a highly uncertain future at Old Trafford, with the club apparently accepting the fact that the Frenchman will leave on a free transfer at the end of the season. Additionally, Nemanja Matic will also enter the final year of his contract next summer, and if United do plan on churning out a transfer fee for the Serbian, he could depart in the coming transfer windows.
Donny van de Beek has been warming the bench at the Manchester-based club since he arrived last summer and recently changed agents to apparently force a move out of the club in January.
Thus, bringing in another player in the centre of the pitch would be a good idea, and it looks like United already have their eye on one of them.
Marcelo Brozovic is in the final year of his current deal at Inter Milan, and contract talks have stalled between the two parties. There are financial indifferences between the two parties as the Croatian is keen on a £5million-a-year salary, although the Nerazzurri are only interested in offering £4.2million per year to the midfielder.

This is not the first time the Old Trafford outfit are trying to lure the midfielder to England as they were also plotting a £28million move for him this summer after his excellent displays in the Euro with his national side. However, after spending a ton of cash this summer, landing the player on a free transfer next summer is an attractive proposition for United.
Regardless, with Paris Saint-Germain & Leicester City also weighing up a deal for the 28-year-old, the Red Devils will have to do their best to bring the Croatian international to Manchester, given the kind of quality he can add to the club’s ranks.
