Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hits back at Gary Neville following criticism regarding his team style

According to the Express, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at Gary Neville following his criticism of the Norwegian’s style.

Solskjaer is currently under fire after United lost three of their last four games in all competitions. It is a rather unfortunate turn of events for a side that have strengthened well in the summer transfer window.

Neville, a United fan through and through, spoke up on the issue earlier this week. He raised questions about United’s ability to function as a team even when the right results were being obtained.

Solskajer finally got his man

Solskjaer has now gone on to admit that Neville is fully aware of what the United DNA means. Neville knows as well as any die-hard United player as to what it takes to don the Red shirt.

“Gary knows what DNA is here at the club. He has always got loads to say.

The United also went on to defend his side’s performance against Aston Villa. While he admits there were not as efficient as some of their other games, there were traits that appear to have pleased him.

“The Aston Villa game we broke up play really well, attacked maybe too fast. Gary knows that. Maybe we did it too fast.”

The game against Villarreal is now on the Norwegian’s mind and he is well aware of the threat that Unai Emery’s side possess. Playing at home, United will be expected to start on the front foot against a tactically well-drilled Yellow Submarines side.

Solskjaer admits that the pressure of managing a side such as United is nothing short of a privilege.

“The pressure is a privilege.”

Neville was spot on in his analysis that United need to develop more as a team. Solskajer has, in all honesty, failed to give a clear answer to Neville’s comments. Hopefully, there will be a clearer response out on the pitch.
