Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fires shots at former Manchester United teammates Roy Keane and Gary Neville
Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a thinly veiled attack on former teammates Roy Keane and Gary Neville.
In his defence, he was only answering a question that was put forward to him regarding the pair of pundits. The duo has often been critical of the Norwegian during his stint as United manager.
Solskjaer largely chose to take the high road but left a parting shot that took a dig at both Neville’s and Keane’s managerial records.
“So when they get angry with us, that’s fine, that’s just their jobs.”
“They’ve both been managers, so they know the standards here, and they know the demands of a manager, so they know what we’re going through every single day.”
Having been in management themselves, Solskjaer believes the pair knows what is expected of a modern manager. However, the pressures that come with being a manager of United trumps any job the duo had taken up.
Keane had spells at Sunderland and Ipswich Town while Neville endured an extraordinarily poor spell at Valencia. Neither of them showed signs of succeeding in their endeavours.
“How successful they’ve been… they know themselves.”
Solskjaer has, to his credit, brought about some stability at United. However, he needs to back it up with trophies sooner than later.

Having crashed out of the FA Cup, the Europa League represents our best bet of winning silverware this season. Success in this competition will at least put to rest questions about his credentials.
