Manchester United suffer massive blow as Borussia Dortmund chief reveals key fact about Erling Haaland
Speaking in an interview, as quoted by AS (h/t Stretty News), Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that Manchester United target Erling Haaland is ‘seduced’ by a move to Real Madrid.
The Red Devils added handsomely to their star-studded squad this summer by bringing in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho. However, it does not look like they are going to stop their spending there as they look to add more quality to their ranks.
Erling Haaland has been a target for the Old Trafford outfit, and the club have been keen on a deal for him, especially since he is has a £64.5million release clause that could activate next summer. The 21-year-old has been sensational for Dortmund in the past year and a half as he has knocked in 68 goals in 67 appearances for the German outfit.
Cavani will be out of contract next summer, while United are also understood to be ready to offload Anthony Martial in January. Adding a forward like Haaland to the fold would be a dream come true for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, the Manchester-based club have now received a blow as Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that Haaland is ‘seduced’ by a move to Real Madrid. Watzke told reporters, as quoted by AS (h/t Stretty News):
“He (Haaland) is an independent personality. Anyway, at some point, he will play for one of the best clubs in the world, although he is already playing in one of the best clubs in the world. But I know, of course, that Real Madrid seduces him.”

This would be a huge disappointment for United as they would have dreamed of reuniting Solskjaer with his former Molde player. While a deal to the Spanish capital has not been agreed yet, the Red Devils would be hoping to lure the Norwegian to England next summer.
