Gary Pallister asks Donny van de Beek to be patient at Manchester United for starts
As per FreeSuperTips (h/t Manchester Evening News), Gary Pallister wants Donny van de Beek to be patient for starts at Manchester United.
Van de Beek has struggled to cement a regular spot in Manchester United’s first team ever since his £35million move from Ajax. The 24-year-old has made just 36 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions ever since he arrived at Old Trafford.
In an interview with FreeSuperTips (h/t Manchester Evening News), Gary said:
“We hear a lot from his agent and how he says Van de Beek is happy and wants to play, but he’s got to be patient ……… I feel for Van de Beek, but when he gets that chance hopefully, he can take it”
The former Manchester United player has urged Van de Beek to be patient with the club despite his lack of playing opportunities. Van de Beek’s agent has revealed that the club tried to block an attempt to move away from the club towards the latter stages of the transfer window. This could imply that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has him in his future plans for the club.
Donny has been a dependable resource for Ajax in the past and has played an important role in the big games for the Dutch club. And it makes sense that the defender should at least be tried out in the defensive midfield role given the club’s shortage in depth there.
Gary sympathises with the kind of frustration that the midfielder must be facing due to the lack of quality game time. With Manchester United challenging for multiple trophies, it could only be a matter of time before an opportunity can pop up due to loss of form or injury.

As for the club, their sole focus would be to win some trophies after such an impressive outlay in the summer. Ending the season without a trophy would be nothing short of calamitous for Solskjaer.
