Cristiano Ronaldo makes goalscoring Manchester United return; mother gets emotional
Cristiano Ronaldo made a fairy-tale second debut with Manchester United against Newcastle United.
Old Trafford erupted with joy when the 36-year-old scored the first goal for Manchester United near the end of the second half. Amongst all the well-wishers of the Red Devils, there was another person who could not control her tears when the Portuguese played and scored in front of a packed crowd that roared the veteran on.
Ronaldo’s mother was in attendance at Old Trafford for his homecoming and got emotional as she saw her son score on his comeback at Old Trafford. The No.7 went on to add another goal after the break to mark a memorable return to the Premier League.
The first goal was put on a platter after a fumble from the Newcastle United keeper. The second one was an immaculate strike as Luke Shaw put the perfect through ball for the former Real Madrid player.
The game was put to bed when fellow Portuguese Bruno Fernandes took a shot from distance and put the ball in the opposition net before Jesse Lingard added a fourth late in the game.
