Manchester United fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo brace helps down Newcastle United 4-1
It appeared to be a trip down memory lane as Cristiano Ronaldo led Manchester United to a 4-1win over Newcastle United to go top of the Premier League table.
The stage was set and anticipation was high following the announcement that Ronaldo would start the game. He duly delivered and put the Red Devils ahead in first-half stoppage time.
Javier Manquillo silenced Old Trafford by drawing Newcastle level in the second half. It did not last long as the Portuguese phenom scored again to hand the home side the advantage.
Bruno Fernandes’s fourth strike of the season gave United breathing space before substitute Jesse Lingard closed out the game in style with a fourth goal.
The star of the night was undoubtedly the United number seven who rolled back the years at the Theatre of Dreams. A packed Old Trafford crowd came to the game with high expectations and it is fair to say that they were not disappointed.
