Ian Wright delivers verdict on Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood

Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast (h/t HITC), Arsenal legend Ian Wright lauded Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood for his fine performances at the start of the season.

Greenwood, who has started every single game for United this season, has also managed to score in every single game, making him only the second teen in the history of the Premier League to do so, after Robbie Fowler for Liverpool in 1994. However, it is not just the number of goals the 19-year-old has scored as much as it has about their timing.

Greenwood delivered an equalizer against Southampton, while his last goal was the winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Thus, the youngster is proving to be a game-changer – qualities he has shown ever since he broke into the squad two years ago.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright was full of praise for the English international as he talked about the player on Wrighty’s House Podcast (h/t HITC), saying:

“If he wasn’t in England, like how they bought (Jadon) Sancho, he would already have a £100m buyout clause on him”.

Wright also mentioned that the 19-year-old could become a multiple Golden Boot winner if he continues his development.

“If he is somebody that gets down the centre, in the centre, in the middle of the goal, get his heading going, getting to the near post, tap-ins in the box, then we are talking about a multiple Golden Boot winner.”

Greenwood has been incredible for United this season, and he might also benefit from the club’s new signing in Cristiano Ronaldo. A club legend, Ronaldo started out at a similar age as Greenwood and made his name at Old Trafford, and he could impart a lot of wisdom to the youngster.

The 19-year-old will now be hoping to make it four goals in four games when the Red Devils face Newcastle United post the international break.
