Transfer News: Manchester United ace Dean Henderson subject of late interest during this window

According to transfer news from ESPN correspondent Rob Dawson (h/t The Peoples Person), Dean Henderson has attracted interest from in regards to a move away from Manchester United.

The 24-year-old suffered from Covid-19 during pre-season, courtesy of which he failed to gain any match fitness and suffered from the symptoms of the aforementioned disease till the start of this month.

However, Henderson did return to Manchester United’s Carrington training complex last week and has started training.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could put faith in Dean Henderson as his first-choice goalkeeper at Manchester United
Dean Henderson was ‘lined-up to start the season

The 24-year-old was ‘lined up’ to start the season but did not get the opportunity to do so due to his illness. Instead, David de Gea has come to the fore for the Old Trafford, and the Spaniard is showing signs of getting back to his very best again.

Although he failed to keep a clean sheet in the first two games of the Premier League campaign, he was fantastic against Wolves as he produced a near-miraculous point-blank save in a crucial period of the match. The Red Devils went on to win the game with a late goal.

This would not be the best news for Henderson, who could go through a similar period as he did last year. The 24-year-old was consistently being played as the second-choice keeper last year and managed only 26 appearances in all competitions, with only half of them coming in the Premier League.

More Manchester United News:

The Englishman, is thus, attracting interest from several clubs for a deal before the transfer window ends. However, with less than 2 days until the end of deadline day, it does not look like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would want to lose such a crucial member of the squad.

Moreover, given that the club are participating in nearly four competitions this year, there could be plenty of game-time for both Henderson & De Gea, which Solskjaer would be hoping is enough to keep both his world-class keepers happy and content at the club.
