Speaking in an interview this weekend (h/t Sky Sports), Jose Mourinho called Manchester United’s coup of Cristiano Ronaldo as ‘perfect business’.

Mourinho was, of course, United’s manager for a couple of seasons. In fact, he is the last manager to win a trophy at Man United after he led the Red Devils to Europa League success in 2017.

Since then, the Portuguese mastermind has joined AS Roma after being sacked at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this year. Mourinho also managed Ronaldo during their time together at Real Madrid.

The Red Devils recently announced that the 36-year-old superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, is returning to Old Trafford, and the deal could cost them up to €23million, including add-ons.

Mou impressed by Ronaldo business

And according to Mourinho, this is smart business from all parties involved. Ronaldo is expected to complete his medical over the weekend and sign a two-year deal at the club.

“The only thing I say – and it looks to me something basic and logic – is that if Juventus are happy, if Cristiano is happy and if Manchester United are happy this is the perfect business.”

The former Chelsea, Porto, and Inter Milan boss reminded everyone of Ronaldo’s pedigree over the last two decades- a stint where he has won five Ballon d’Or awards, including one as a Man United player.

“I think there is no need to talk about Cristiano. There is no need to make any comment about someone who plays, wins, scores and makes history for 20 years.”

More Manchester United News:

The whole club has seemed to be on a high ever since Ronaldo’s arrival was announced. He might be 36, but he has shown no signs of slowing down and can be the difference-maker this season for Solskjaer’s side.
