Fans react as Mason Greenwood helps Manchester United win three points vs Wolves

Manchester United needed some luck and a bit of individual brilliance to get a 1-0 win vs Wolves in an all-important Premier League game before the international break.

Man United fans made the trip to Molineux on a surreal high after the club announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo a couple of days ago. The Portuguese wasn’t involved in the game, however.

Nevertheless, the travelling supporters got to witness two new summer signings make their first full start for the club. Jadon Sancho started down the left-hand side while Raphael Varane expectedly partnered Harry Maguire in defence.

The Englishman had an awful debut and made next to no impact on the game. Daniel James was perhaps the livelier winger of the two but it was Mason Greenwood who made the difference.

Greenwood becomes saviour

Wolves dominated the game when it came to creating clear-cut chances. However, the game stayed at 0-0 until the 80th minute, when some weak goalkeeping from Jose Sa saw Mason Greenwood’s shot fizz past him in the goal.

United then held on, thanks to some wise time-wasting tactics that slowed down the game. Wolves were out of ideas and apart from Adama Traore, no one really threatened United’s defence in the closing stages.

No United fan would mind how the win came. This was a game to get out of the way before a long international break before the attention would completely shift to Ronaldo’s potential second debut.
