Corentin Tolisso and Leon Goretzka are being monitored by Manchester United
According to Fichajes (h/t CaughtOffside), Manchester United are eager to sign Bayern Munich duo Corentin Tolisso and Leon Goretzka.
The Red Devils signed the likes of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho this summer for a combined value of above £100million, and it does not look like the Old Trafford outfit are going to stop there.
The club have set their eyes on the midfield duo of Goretzka and Tolisso at Bayern Munich, both of whom are in the final year of their contracts and are yet to sign an extension with the German outfit.
Tolisso, who joined Bayern from Lyon for £35million in 2017, managed only 16 league appearances last season and the club are now ready to offload the player. While the player was initially valued by the German outfit at £17million, they have lowered their price to nearly £8.5million, according to BILD (h/t Daily Mail).
Leon Goretzka, on the other hand, managed to rack up 24 league appearances last season while he was also an integral part of the club’s UEFA Champions League triumph in 2020. However, the German’s inability to commit to a new contract has led to frustration at the club, with Bayern president Herbert Hainer clear on not offering ‘above the odds’ to keep players at the club.
United, who have already started their season, might want more cover in central midfield as the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay might not be able to maintain the same levels over the course of a 9-month campaign. Additionally, there is a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Paul Pogba, and signing another midfielder could be a smart move.

While there is no certainty on whether United will approach both Tolisso and Goretzka, the Red Devils will be concluding some fantastic business even if they manage to get one of the players into their ranks by the end of the transfer window.
