Manchester United fans as Axel Tuanzebe joins Aston Villa on loan after penning a fresh deal

As confirmed by the club’s official site, Manchester United star Axel Tuanzebe has joined Premier League rivals Aston Villa on a see Jason long loan.

The 23-year-old also penned an extension to his current deal that was set to expire next season. The new terms will run until June 2023 with the option of an additional year’s extension. Given the length of the contract, it is pretty obvious that the aim was to preserve his value.

A good season at Villa Park could see him return to Old Trafford next summer a better player with improved opportunities. With potentially three years to go on his current deal, the Red Devils also have leeway in negotiations should they decide to cash in on him.

Raphael Varane’s imminent arrival would have thrown yet another spanner into Tuanzebe’s chances of regular playtime at United. A promising defender who has often impressed, he is at an age where he should be playing regularly.

With that proving difficult at Old Trafford, the move to Villa Park is a win-win for all parties. Tuanzebe is familiar with Villa Park having spent the2018/19 season on loan, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League.

We now take a look at how some fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
