Transfer News: Declan Rice very keen on Manchester United move
According to transfer news from Express, Declan Rice wants a move to Manchester United more than United want Rice. Darren Fletcher and John Murtough are also admirers of the West Ham star. However, the interest in the move is more on Rice’s behalf than on United’s.
A midfielder seems to be on the agenda for Manchester United as they try to piece together their summer transfer business. Which of course is looking in good shape so far. Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho are confirmed while a prospective deal for Raphael Varane could be nearing completion.
The midfielder they have kept in mind is Declan Rice. The English midfielder just capped off a great season for both club and country. He was a part of the West Ham side that qualified for Europe as well as England that made it to the finals of the Euros. Rice was an integral part of both sides.
Those at United, namely Fletcher and Murtough, seem to admire the midfielder. However, they aren’t really looking to get him with their attention on other players such as Ruben Neves. It is rather surprising that Rice is the one who has shown keenness in this move instead of United.

United could be making a mistake here not following up on Rice’s interest. The West Ham star is a quality defensive midfielder who can be the long term solution to United’s midfield. While there could be underlying reasons for United not moving for Rice, he is still a player worth looking into.
