Transfer News: PSG plan mega sale to fund move for Paul Pogba
According to transfer news from Express, PSG are prepared to sell nine players to fund a move for Paul Pogba. PSG are trying their level best to lure the Manchester United superstar in the belief that it will help in keeping Kylian Mbappe.
Pogba will be free to talk to other clubs over a free transfer from January 2022 given his current deal is in the final year. That means United are severely low on their options and selling him in this transfer window is one of them. The other option would be to keep him for the remainder of this season and hope that a new deal can be agreed upon.
PSG have shown the most interest in the Frenchman. They are also one of the few clubs that can offer United a decent fee for him and match his high wages. Another reason they are going after him is to sway Kylian Mbappe into committing to the club as both share a good rapport for the national side.
Due to PSG already signing four players, they will now need to sell players if they want to bring Pogba. They have shortlisted nine names. In defence, they are likely to do away with Layvin Kurzawa, Thilo Kehrer and Sergio Rico.
Given that they are after Pogba, a midfielder, it could see a host of names from that position leave. Rafinha, Ander Herrera, Julian Draxler, Danilo Pereira and Idrissa Gueye are all expected to be on the market. Lastly, in attack, Mauro Icardi will likely be shipped off.

It might not be the best option for United to sell Pogba but they will have to bite the bullet now and take the cash. The longer contract talks drag on, the likelier United are to lose him for free. PSG look real serious about Pogba now and United might as well accept their fate.
