According to a report by The Sun, Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti. The report claims that the Ligue 1 giants have offered United a chance to sign him but there’s a catch.
PSG want Paul Pogba in exchange along with a good amount of cash. The report further states that PSG would also accept a cash-only deal but it goes without saying that they will demand a staggering fee.
Over the course of the previous campaign, United failed to make much of an impact in the middle of the park. And Paul Pogba could not do much to salvage the situation either. He was often deployed in a deeper role due to a lack of options and that visibly hindered his individual style of play.
In such a situation, perhaps it would make sense for us to accept PSG’s offer of a cash plus Pogba deal to sign Verratti this summer.
The 25-year-old is a defensive midfielder by trade and he could be a great partner for Nemanja Matic provided Jose Mourinho sticks to his 4-2-3-1 formation next season as well.
In 34 appearances across competitions for PSG last season, Verratti chipped in with 2 goals and 5 assists. Those numbers are quite impressive for a deep-lying midfielder and perhaps United should take the deal and bring him in.

It will be a risk for sure but from what we have seen of Pogba’s performances in the ongoing World Cup in Russia, it would be a greater risk to rely on him going forward.
It must be the heat, PSG are as gullible as the next when it comes to insanity. Pogba + Money for Verratti. Silly season is well and truly in full swing. There is not a lot between the two in quality and not a significant amount to warrant this kind of assessment by PSG. I would send them a “Get well Card.”
