PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino avoids questions over Paul Pogba
According to Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino tried his best to avoid questions about Paul Pogba being linked with a move to PSG. The Manchester United star is the subject of speculation as his contract winds down, and links to PSG have done the rounds.
Pogba will be free to talk to other clubs over a free transfer from January 2022, given his current deal is in the final year. That means United are severely low on their options and selling him in this transfer window is one of them. The other option would be to keep him for the remainder of this season and hope that a new deal can be agreed upon.
The player has given no such hint of remaining at the club but is slowly biding his time away. PSG have shown the most interest in the Frenchman. They are also one of the few clubs that can offer United a decent fee for him and match his high wages.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked about the same after the side’s defeat to Lille in the Trophee des Champions. However, he tried to give nothing away and refused to comment on the same.
“You see the list of players that we have at home. We have plenty of players. Half of the squad is at home. A few are on holidays. I think the performance was good. I am happy and I don’t want to talk about the names of the players that are in other clubs.”

It might not be the best option for United to sell Pogba. But they will have to bite the bullet now and take the cash if they sense that he won’t renew his deal. The longer contract talks drag on, the likelier United are to lose him for free. PSG look serious about Pogba and United might as well accept their fate.
