Manchester United fans react as Mason Greenwood picks Messi over Ronaldo
Manchester United star Mason Greenwood sent fans into a meltdown after he picked Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo (h/t Mirror). Greenwood became the latest to chip in his opinion on football’s most hotly contested debate on who the best player is.
It has been close to two decades of dominance from Ronaldo and Messi as both these behemoths of the game have taken their game to stratospheric levels. They have won all there is for their clubs, plundering hundreds of goals on the way. Both have also gotten their hands on an international trophy.
Ronaldo was of course an Old Trafford darling during the six years he spent at the club. The forward had such an impact that United fans still adore him. He then went on to play for Real Madrid and Juventus. However, Messi remained a one-club man with Barcelona.
However, the debate still rages on who is the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T). Mason Greenwood being a Manchester United player has somewhat surprised fans with his pick of the GOAT.
“For me, it’s always got to be Messi. For me, he’s just on another planet. Ronaldo is obviously amazing, a physical, great athletic footballer. But to do what Messi does at his size, what he’s done for Barcelona and winning that trophy for Argentina, he is just on another level.”
