Transfer News: Real Madrid to keep tabs on Diogo Dalot
According to transfer news from Daily Mail, new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has asked the club to keep tabs on Diogo Dalot. Ancelotti has held an interest in Dalot since his days at Everton and has now considered a move for him to Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old Portuguese full-back spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at the San Siro, playing a part in Milan’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League. While he may not have been an automatic first choice, he made 33 appearances for the Rossoneri, scoring twice and providing three assists.
Dalot’s impressive form led to a call-up to the Portugal side for the Euros. While he didn’t really feature in the initial stages, he did go on to play in two of the more important games against France and Belgium. Currently, Dalot is back at United.
Rather surprisingly, it is Real Madrid who have kept their eyes on the player. Carlo Ancelotti has followed the player since his time at Everton. Now, he wants the full-back at Real Madrid. So far, no approach has been made for him. Real already have a few options at right-back but they could still go after Dalot.

Dalot’s contract runs until 2023 but the chances of him making it at United appear rather slim. Due to the duration of the remaining years, United still have some time to figure out what to do with him. He is unlikely to displace Wan-Bissaka but he does have talent. United will need to come up with a solution soon.
