A surprising name topped the list of the fastest players at Manchester United this season

Squawka.com, have compiled a list of the fastest players for all the Premier League teams this season, and there is a very surprising name on top for Manchester United. It seems like the Red Devils have a couple of speed demons in the squad.

Diogo Dalot topped the list with a speed of 35.46 km/h, where most people would have expected one of the club’s world-class wingers to be the fastest, it is actually Erik ten Hag’s Portuguese right-back who takes the crown.

Dalot has enjoyed a rich vein of form this season. He has been available for all but two games and has been a positive for the Dutchman during the 31 appearances that he has made this season.

Diogo Dalot was sent off for an extremely bizarre reason during Manchester United’s trip to Liverpool.

He consistently moves the ball up the field and makes a ton of passes into the final third to get United some goal-scoring opportunities. That’s not all he has also been splendid with all of his defensive duties for the team.

Dalot is only 24 right now, the Portuguese defender can grow to be an even better player for Manchester United. He currently has four years left on his contract, so there is plenty of time for him to improve.

However, his emergence could be bad for Aaron Wan-Bissaka who will likely fall down the pecking order. Bissaka may be good but anything that he can do, Dalot can do better and faster.

Now that Lisandro Martinez is injured, the team will be counting on all of their defenders to do an even better job.

This is the perfect opportunity for Dalot to show Erik ten Hag what he is made of. Hopefully, the Portuguese star will put his speed to good use throughout the rest of the season.
