Transfer News: Real Madrid opt against signing Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba.
Pogba has been sensational for France and not so much so for Man United.

According to The Sun (h/t The Daily Mail), French giants Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with the representatives of Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

The 28-year-old has just a year to go on his current deal and has not yet made clear his intentions publically. There however appears to be work going on behind the scenes and PSG’s move has been encouraged by the player’s entourage, who are planning a future away from Old Trafford.

Having spent five years at United, Pogba is ready for a new challenge. With the Red Devils fearful of losing him on a free transfer next year, they may have no other choice but to cash in on him this summer.

Pogba to leave United this summer?

According to RMC Sport (h/t The Daily Mail), Pogba is keen on joining the PSG project this summer. Having finished as runners-up in Ligue 1 last season, the Parisians are keen to regain the crown. The likes of Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma could all sign for them.

Landing Pogba would be the cherry on top. A world-class player in his prime, Pogba was amongst France’s best players at this summer’s Euros. Having arrived as the club’s most expensive signing, he has often failed to impress.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid were put off by the £100m+ asking price for the player in previous windows. However, the Red Devils will be lucky to get a third of it now. However, we have no one but ourselves to blame for letting him run down the contract this far.

Mino Raiola has already had a fruitful summer, completing the move of Donnarumma from Milan to PSG. Getting Pogba to follow the Italian could potentially see him land a hefty fee. Whether that comes to happen remains to be seen.
