Transfer News: Manchester United prepare bid for Marcelo Brozovic
According to transfer news from Daily Star, Manchester United are preparing a bid for Marcelo Brozovic. United are ready to pay £26million for the Inter Milan midfielder. If United are to bring the Croatian to the Premier League, they will have to fend off interest from Barcelona.
Marcelo Brozovic started his career with Hrvatski Dragovoljac in his homeland. Subsequently, he featured for Lokomotiva Zagreb and Dinamo Zagreb before completing a move to Inter Milan in 2015. The 28-year-old has established himself as one of the better central midfielders in Italy over the past five years, registering 25 goals and 32 assists in 242 appearances across all competitions.
One of the areas Manchester United have lacked in the last 2-3 years is the defensive midfield. Nemanja Matic looks to be running on his last legs while the duo of Fred and McTominay feel like they are doing the job of one player. Hence, it is not surprising that Brozovic is on their radar.
The Red Devils are preparing a bid for the Croatian and are willing to offer £26million for his services. Brozovic was an ever-present asset for Antonio Conte as Inter went on to win the Serie A. However, United are likely to face competition for his signing from Barcelona.

Perhaps Brozovic is a left-field choice in terms of a defensive midfielder given he is already 28. However, he is an experienced customer who can be a handy player to have. United going for the Croatian is a smart move that should pay dividends.
