Now that the Jadon Sancho pursuit has reached a satisfying conclusion, Manchester United are ready to turn their attention to landing Real Madrid ace Raphael Varane.

According to The Telegraph (Subscription Required), the Red Devils are keen on making the Frenchman their second major addition to the squad this summer. It is no secret that United are in the market for a centre-back. As things stand Varane heads that list as the club’s first-choice addition.

According to Manchester Evening News, Real could demand as much as £80m for Varane but United are keen to get the deal done closer to £50m. The former’s hand in negotiations is, however, weak and they could potentially lose him for a free next year.

Varane has also been linked to Chelsea. He is keen on a fresh adventure and would be open to joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United. The French man spent the last 10 years at the Bernabeu racking up 360 appearances and winning 18 trophies including four Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles. (h/t The Express)
